Is ceramic coating worth it?
A ceramic coating is a liquid layer that bonds to your paint and hardens into a glossy, protective film.
What it does well: water and dirt slide off more easily, washing is quicker, and the paint is better protected from UV, bird droppings and road grime.
What it doesn't do: it is not armour. It won't stop stone chips or deep scratches — paint protection film is designed for that.
Preparation matters: the paint is usually decontaminated and polished (paint correction) before coating, because the coating locks in whatever is underneath.
How long it lasts depends on the product and how the car is washed and stored — from about a year to several years. Gentle hand washing helps it last.
