What is side / rear glass replacement?
A broken side window or rear windscreen replaced, often at your location.
Side and rear glass is usually toughened, which shatters into small pieces rather than cracking. Replacement involves removing door trims or seals, vacuuming every fragment from door cavities and the cabin, fitting the new glass and checking the window mechanism, heating elements and seals.
Signs you need it
- Shattered side window after a break-in or impact
- Cracked or shattered rear screen
- Window not sealing or rattling
How it works
- Make the opening weather-tight if needed
- Remove trims and broken glass
- Vacuum all fragments
- Fit new glass and seals
- Reconnect demister or antenna if fitted
- Test operation and seal
You can choose a workshop visit or have a professional come to your home, work or depot.
