What is puncture assessment & repair?
A technician checks whether the puncture can be repaired safely and fixes it from the inside.
Not every puncture can be repaired. A safe repair is only possible when the hole is small and in the central tread area, and when the tyre has not been driven flat. The technician removes the tyre, inspects it inside and out, and if it is repairable fits a combined plug-patch from the inside. If not, they will recommend a replacement.
Signs you need it
- Tyre losing pressure over days
- A nail or screw visible in the tread
- Tyre pressure warning light
- Car pulling to one side
How it works
- Locate the leak
- Remove the tyre from the wheel
- Inspect the inner liner for damage
- Prepare and fit a plug-patch repair
- Refit, inflate and balance
- Check for leaks
You can choose a workshop visit or have a professional come to your home, work or depot.
How much does it cost?
The exact price depends on your vehicle and the job. On MYLES, each professional shows a fixed price, a starting price, a range, or sends a quote — so you can compare like for like before you book.

Tips
- Do not pull a nail out before the repair, it may hold air
- Avoid driving on a flat tyre: it usually makes it unrepairable
- Sidewall punctures cannot be safely repaired
Why it matters
A slow leak can become a blow-out at speed, so fix it promptly.
